2015-2016 Auditions

The 2015-2016 Season is underway, and although we have already had a few rehearsals we are looking to expand our membership yet again.

Auditions will be Sunday, September 20th, from 5-7pm at the Studio School of Dance located at 3225 Danny Park in Metairie.   It's behind Panda Express and diagonally across Danny Park from Chik-Fil-A.  The closest large cross streets are Veterans and Cleary.

Qualifications for our Dancing Team:
* over 18 years by the end of this season
* female
* physically fit & able to perform routines
* able to grasp simple choreography
* practices twice monthly September-November and weekly October-February.
* tattoos & body mods are okay as long as you are wiling to cover or remove them if asked.  Typically members only cover them for performances or parades and don't for social events or public events.

Qualifications for our Walking Team or Banner Team:
*over 18 years by the end of this season
*female
*physically fit & able to walk as many as 10 miles
*meetings and fittings two or three times a year

There are also auditions for our Elite Dancing Team later in the season for dancers and qualified performers.

Please bring:  A Headshot and Resume if you have them,  and dance attire.  We practice in dance shoes or tennis shoes and dance and perform in T-strap nude character heels.  Glamour is a large part of our look so please wear the makeup and hair style you would wear for a performance.

Dues:  Our dues are $600 for new members and $150 yearly for returning members.  The first year's dues mostly cover our very elaborate costumes which become the property of the member.  The $150 covers things like rehearsal space, food, drinks, security on the route, insurance, our sound system, port-a-potty & trailer, among other things.

We have a lot of fun throughout the season and have made appearances at local events and locations such as the Hard Rock, and we have appeared on NCIS: New Orleans Season 1, as well as commercials for Toyota and TurboTax.   We are committed to a different charity every season, and have a "Feathers &"  each year.

We look forward to seeing some new Showgirls soon!

Xoxo,
the NOLA Showgirls
